All the wait was worth it. Two years later, motorcycling fans from around the world have returned today to enjoy the speed at MotorLand Aragon thanks to the Motul FIM Superbikes 2022 World Championship. A day full of adrenaline, sun and temperatures of 21 ºC that will stay throughout the weekend.

On this day of free practices, the fastest man on track was the six-time champion of the category Jonathan Rea (1'49.301). Spaniard Alvaro Bautista was second (1'49.606), while the last Superbike winner, Toprak Razgatlioglu, was third (1'49.665). The other two national representatives of the category, Iker Lecuona and Xavi Vierge, ranked 10th (1'50.540) and 13th (1'50.787) positions respectively. In the Supersports 300 class, the fastest rider was Marc Garcia on his Yamaha (2'06.564), followed by Alvaro Diaz (2'06.599) and Bruno Ieraci (2'06.770) in third place. There is maximum equality in this category: the five fastest riders are separated by only 7 tenths of a second. The fastest Supersport rider was Dominique Aegerter (1'53.407), followed by Nicoló Bulega (1'53.986) and Lorenzo Baldassarri (1'54.641).

The Aragonese circuit was very eager to welcome the first fans of the championship, who were able to see their idols on the track and enjoy the activities organized in the paddock. From the Paddock Show, games were played, all the races were broadcasted and there were talks with the fastest riders. In addition, the Yamaha R3 Cup, the Japanese brand's competition for young people between 12 and 20 years old, held its qualifying session with the Spaniard Yeray Ruiz Ruiz getting the pole position (2'13.425).

Speed, good weather and excitement on the track will be predominant this Saturday and Sunday in the first round of the championship, as well as all the activities organized to celebrate the return of the fans to the grandstands of the circuit and the 35th anniversary of the Motul FIM Superbike World Championship.
