The British Scott Redding has taken his first victory of the season with almost ten seconds over his rivals in the second race of the Aragon Round

The first round of the Motul FIM World Superbike Championship ends at Motorland Aragón, leaving Jonathan Rea leading the premier class, Steven Odendaal in Supersport and Tom Booth-Amos in Supersport 300.

It seemed that everything was decided fort Race 2 this Sunday, Jonathan Rea seems that was going to add two victories in the first two races. On the second lap, Garrett Gerloff fell to the asphalt while trying to overtake Rea at Turn 14, causing him to go off the track and lose several race positions to finish second.

Meanwhile, Scott Redding takes the leading and from eighth position, and with his skics tires, manages to climb back to first position and maintain an overwhelming advantage of almost ten seconds without giving the other drivers a chance. At the same time Alex Lowes returned to sign another good race reaching third place on the podium.

Regarding the Spanish drivers, Álvaro Bautista gets eleventh place, while Tito Rabat ends up on the gravel after crashing at the first corner and finishing this start of the championship with a withdrawal from the race.

 

The Tissot Superpole fought between Rea and Redding in the first round.

After the Warm Up in the morning, it was the turn of the Tissot Super Pole Race in a day that came into play in addition to the skill of the pilot, the strategy in the choice of tires. Jonatahan Rea (Kawasaki ZX-10RR) who achieved his hundredth victory yesterday has returned to enter the finish line first. Followed by his teammate Alex Lowes (Kawasaki ZX-10RR) and Garrett Gerloff (Yamaha YZF R1).
The seventh position of the super pole has been for Álvaro Bautista.

In the first lap Scott Redding has forced Rea to deviate from his trajectory in the Alcañiz corkscrew, but quickly in the second lap he has recovered the first position.

Again, Steven Odendaal of Team Evan Bros WorldSSP took first place with a thrilling overtaking at the last corner of Italian Raffaele De Rosa who came in second. Frenchman Jules Cluzel, who had been penalized for a tire pressure problem, made a great comeback from his fifteenth position on the starting grid to complete third place on the podium.

Spaniard Marc Alcoba managed to dominate in the first laps and finished in seventh position. Manuel González eleventh and María Herrera was thirteenth in addition to scoring the second best result in the European classification.

The Spanish Unai Orradre and Adrián Huertas complete the podium in the second race of WorldSSP300

The winner of the last race of the Round Pirelli Aragon WorldSSP300 has been for the British Tom Booth-Amos with his Kawasaki Ninja 400 (Fusport - Rt Motorsports by SKM Kawasak) followed by the Riojan Unai Orradre, Yamaha YZF-R3 (Team Yamaha MS Racing) and Adrián Huertas from Madrid on the back of his Kawasaki Ninja 400 (Team MTM Kawasaki).

Ana Carrasco returns to action after her recovery and gets fifth place after riding all the time in the front group.

Thus ends the first round of the World Superbike championship at Motorland Aragón.

 

The next appointment on the MotorLand Aragón sports calendar will be June 5 and 6 with the Spanish Motocross Championship.
