The first international event of the Motorland sports calendar was successfully held on Thursday, March 4.
In two exciting days, where a total of thirteen teams have arrived on the circuit from Germany, Czech Republic and Norway. Experienced and professional drivers have enjoyed the GT Winter Series, this Thursday in Motorland Aragon, with training sessions and two 25-minute races.
The winner of the first race, the German driver Marcel Marchewicz, Schnitzelalm Racing Team, with his Mercedes – AMG GT 4, has had a brilliant race in the GTS category. Second place was for Tim Hendrikx, first in its Cup R category, on board a Porsche 991.1 GT3 of Laptime Performance Team. The third to reach the finish line, Robert Haub of Zakspeed Team with the Mercedes-AMG GT4.
The second race has been very disputed. The first place has been for the Norwegian Pal Pettersen Berg with the Porsche GT2 RS CS of the Cup R series. Again, Tim Hendrikx in the second place with his Porsche 991.1 GT3. The third place has been for the Spanish Andrius Zemaitis of Pro-Rallye Team on board a Porsche Cayman GT4 CS.
The winner of the GTS category has been the Czech Gabriela Jilkova of Team Zaskpeed.
Markus Gedlich CEO, organizer of the GT Winter Series explains why this speed circuit is a final clasp for his championship: "For us MotorLand Aragon is the most professional circuit Europe not only by organization, but also for safety, spaces and location".
The GT Winter Series emerges in Central Europe. A private test that began making runs and their great hobby led them to organize a competition where both professional and amateur drivers, could enjoy this new format of winter race.
