The day started very interestingly at the circuit in Alcañiz, Aleix Espargaró lead the Aragón Grand Prix FP1 time classification session despite suffering a crash without consequences and some problems with his Aprilia in the final moments of the practice. Pecco Bagnaia and Álex Rins completed the Top 3, less than a tenth of a second behind the Catalan driver. On the other hand, the leader of the championship, Fabio Quartararo, finished eighth the day of the most wanted return to competition of Marc Márquez, who qualified eleventh, just over half a second off the best time.

Jorge Martín left Friday's Aragón MotoGP Grand Prix as the fastest rider of the day in FP2. The Madrid-born rider lowered his FP1 time by almost 2 seconds, which puts him at the front of the combined timesheets for Saturday's session. Fabio Quartararo also made a good step forward, placing second, less than 1 tenth of a second behind the Pramac Ducati rider. Meanwhile, Johann Zarco was third fastest in FP2 and Pecco Bagnaia finished fifth with a competitive Marc Márquez eighth. On the other hand, Aleix Espargaró suffered another crash, he was not harmed. He is out of the top ten to move onto Q2, it all depends on what happens in tomorrow’s FP3.

There was clear dominance of the Spaniards Augusto Fernandez and Arón Canet in Moto2.

The Spanish drivers dominated the first free practice session of the intermediate category. Augusto Fernández dominated the session followed by Arón Canet, Alonso López, Pedro Acosta and Fermín Aldeguer. Fernández, who leads the overall standings, was more than a second ahead of his main rival in the fight for the title, Ai Ogura, who was thirteenth.

The second Moto2 free practice session of the Aragon Grand Prix was once again dominated by Spaniards. This time it was Arón Canet who dominated, followed by the championship leader, Augusto Fernández, just 1 tenth behind. Alonso Lopez completed the Top 3 with the Boscoscuro team.
